Description

Dinosaurs, Groundhog Day, The 1950s ……

It’s About Time Game - This is a great game for students to practice telling time while traveling back in time.

  • The students will be able to tell time to the nearest minute.
  • The students will be able to add and subtract 2-digit and 3-digit numbers with regrouping.

The goal of the game is to be the first player to reach 1,000 points.

The players take turns moving around the game board. The players either add points or subtract points from their current total. When a player lands on a “Tick Tock” space, they pick a clock card. On each clock card, there is an activity/task, an analog clock showing the time of the activity/task (am and pm), and the point value for the player to add to his/her score. The player reads the time on the clock and then adds the points to their score.

When a player lands on a time machine, they pick a time machine card. The time machine card tells the player the number of points to subtract from their current total and the destination to where they traveled in the time machine.

Go to my store, MathCritters, and check out my other time travel game, Race to Midnight. Throughout the game, players will tell time and practice elapsed time by adding and subtracting intervals of time. Race to Midnight is a different game than It’s About Time, but the time machine cards are the same.
