Description

This presentation focuses on medial phoneme substitution. Over 50 Google Slides to help students develop the phonemic awareness skills necessary to become strong readers. Students are guided through segmenting and identifying the middle sound of spoken words, and then changing the sound to make a new word. Colorful pictures with teacher directions and prompts keep children engaged and actively participating. Play an "I Spy..." game together at the end for a fun review. Perfect for remote tutoring one on one or a teaching a whole class. Just share your screen on Zoom or Google Meets and read the notes you see. This skill set meets first grade targets for phonemic awareness, but you may use them in older grades for Intervention, Special Education, Speech Therapy, or with English Language Learners.
