Description

Welcome! This listing features a full-page test about forces in fluids for physical science in addition to a modified version of the test for students with an I.E.P. The test covers Pascal’s, Archimedes’, and Bernoulli’s principles.

  • Students begin by answering a myriad of questions comparing sets of variables (Air pressure-elevation/differences in density/depth-water pressure, buoyant force-objects, etc.) in a miscellaneous question section.
  • Students then complete a fill-in-the- blank section about Pascal's principle and how it relates to hydraulic pumps. I included a word bank for this section.
  • Students then solve seven problems, where they calculate the density, pressure, hydraulic force, area, buoyant force, volume, mass, and/or height of fluid above a submerged object.

I provided an equation bank for the five different equations students will use. I also typed out the meanings next to each symbol below the equations. In addition, I marked the quantitative values in the story problems with bold-font parenthesized symbols used in the equations to help students with the placement of the values in the respective equations.

This document will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC program. The purchasing teacher then can remove the equation bank as a means to challenge students who may not need it.

The keys feature a step-by-step breakdown of work that results in the answer in red font. I displayed additional steps for isolating variables in the problems that require it. I labeled all of the values in the intermediate steps. I also rounded the answers to honor the multiplication/division rule of significant figures.
