Description

Halloween K-1 Writing Prompts

This resource has a Halloween-themed resource for K-1 students.  It is a fun resource that will appeal to your students and engage them in the writing assignment! It has been differentiated for for the different stages of your young writers. The Traceable Sentence Stems are your emergent writers who need more support. The Traceable Sentence Starters are for your transitional writers who need just a little support. Your fluent writers get the pages where they can do their own labeling and writing. There are also Oral Sentence Starters to help you introduce this writing assignment to your young writers. Starting with this activity can get your kids into the frame of mind in thinking about how to respond to the writing prompt.

I have added some vocabulary pages with Halloween words for tracing and matching to pictures! An additional three pages of independent writing have been included with an editable space for you to add your own writing prompt. This would be ideal for early finishers or to do with the whole class.

These writing worksheets can be glued together to make a booklet. A cover has been provided, I would give them this page to color and glue after all the pages have been filled in. Or pages can be assigned individually and toppers can be used to decorate student work.
