Latitude and Longitude: Reading/Mapping out Coordinates

The main objective of this lesson is to introduce students to the idea of latitude and longitude, how to read and map out these coordinated, and the purpose and real world applications of this system.

Activity contains two different ways of practicing latitude and longitude

Version 1: Students will use the map provided and examine the coordinates labeled A-O. They will provide the latitude and longitude of the coordinates in both degrees and directions (North, South, East, West) on the box chart provided.

Version 2: Students will use the filled out box chart to map out the various coordinates on the map. Students must find the location of letters A-O and put the letter next to the correct star
