Description

Welcome! This worksheet features ten Molarity-themed dimensional analysis problems. Molarity is a derived unit pertaining to the concentration of a solution. In Part I, students will convert moles of a substance and the known volume of water to Molarity. In Part II, students will convert the mass and Molarity of a substance to the volume of water required to prepare the solution. In Part III, students will convert volume of water and the Molarity of a substance to moles. In part IV, students will determine the mass needed of a chemical to prepare a specified Molarity at a predetermined volume.

I included a breakdown showing how to use the conversion factors in a small text box in the upper left front corner of the student page.

I provided a full-page key with the answers in bold red font. I showed the work for each problem. I rounded each answer in the key to honor the multiplication/division rule of significant figures.

I assign this activity in my eighth-grade physical science class. A high school chemistry teacher could also utilize this worksheet for a unit about Molarity.

This PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC app.
