Description

Bring history to life by taking your students on an interactive journey through the Punic Wars. Students are suddenly transported back in time. In this simulation, students will be an embedded reporter following three generations of Roman plebeian farmers who called up to fight in the three Punic Wars. They will record information about the causes, events and outcome of the war, participate in military training and interview soldiers. By the end, they will be prepared to write a short article and take a quiz about what they have learned.

Topics included

- Experience and perspective of Roman soldiers

- Naval warfare

- Hannibal

- Soldiers' armor and supplies

- Soldiers' training

- Cannae

- Impacts of the Punic Wars on Roman farmers

- Consider what stories are told in history (Battles, Generals' victories or Soldiers' experiences)

Finally, a printable or Google Form Quiz is included! Your students will be experts on this fascinating historical event!

While this simulation could be done virtually, it is best for in person learning.
