he following colorful activity has two pages: 1 full of 24 task cards where students must convert real world situations into scientific notation (both really tiny numbers and really big numbers).
They have a recording sheet where they record their answers. On the recording sheet, they are instructed to color given the coloring directions at the top. This helps them to make the connection between tiny numbers and negative exponents on base 10, vs. big numbers and positive exponents base 10.
Great for visual learners!
