Sums of 10 - Halloween Addition Math Game and Activity - 1st and 2nd Grade

BOOOOOO! This product includes two fun Halloween activities for finding sums of 10.

Both activities are great for a math center. Trick or Treat is an independent number search activity. The goal of the activity is for students to find 65 “pieces of candy” or 65 combinations of 10. Students search (go trick or treating) to find 2 numbers that add up to 10. When they find a combination, they circle the 2 numbers and record a tally mark on their spider web worksheet. For your more advanced students, have them find combinations of 10 using 3 or more numbers. This is a great activity for students to work on anytime throughout the day.

Game - Make 10

Make 10 is more challenging than Trick or Treat because students must find a missing addend to make 10. Players pick a card 1-9 and must find the missing addend on their game board to make a combination of 10.

Included:

• Halloween-themed cards (numbers 1-9) - color and black and white
• Other options instead of using the Halloween-themed cards: 12-sided dice, 6-sided dice, or playing cards
• 2 different game boards – Halloween and Happy Hauntings (Game boards are identical except for the clip art.)
• Game boards - black and white- The students color in the picture while playing the game.
• Answer key for sums of 10 (optional)
