In this 21 page lesson (A GOOGLE and Traditional version provided), your students will examine the the West African Empires of Ghana, Mali and Songhai.
Your students will:
1) Label a map of Africa following a set of specific map directions.
2) Complete Cornell Notes from an interactive slide-show which allows students to "journey" through the notes with Leo Africanus as their guide stopping at specific landmarks in West Africa.
3) At each stopping point students will watch a very short video and complete a corresponding travel log which helps them to interact with the information!
This is a super FUN way to take notes!
