Description

Looking for a fun project for reviewing 6th grade math standards? Students will solve problems in decimals and fractions on the number line, ordering decimals, inequalities, expressions, area and perimeter, percent of a number, plotting points, and order of operations, as they move along this famous trail from Mexico to Canada. They will learn about the different sections of the trail, purchase supplies for their journey, write about their adventures in a journal and solve math problems to earn dollars to replenish supplies.

Printable worksheets, maps and expense sheets are included as well as teacher instructions and a rubric for grading.

Duration of the Project: approximately 2 weeks.

Project Overview:

* Mark their current location on a printable map.

* Keep track of expenses on a printable expense sheet.

* Read details about each section of the trail.

* Choose randomly from several possible adventures along the trail.

* Write a journal entry.

* Solve math problems to earn more money for supplies.
