Description
Students will review the causes of the Civil War and some related people and events from the Antebellum Era with this timeline stations and map activity. They will put together one timeline with 9 events and write academic identifications for those events (and add one of their own). They will then match 8 other events to their identification, expand on the identification, and put them in chronological order. The third station (or task) is image analysis and the final station (or task) is a map with 10 labels plus identifying the states and territories at the time.
Sample timeline items include the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the Compromise of 1850, Dred Scott, Nat Turner's rebellion, Uncle Tom's Cabin, John Brown's raid, the Wilmot Proviso, and more!
Teacher information and the answers are included where appropriate. This would be great for a sub if used as an individual or pairs packet!
