Contextualization Short Essay Question - AP Art History - Print & Digital - Google Drive

The writing portion of the AP Art History exam is worth 50% of the overall exam score. Teaching the writing portion well is extremely important but also daunting. However, as it just so happens, I LOVE teaching writing - which is why I created this resource to help newbie and veteran teachers out! This step-by-step guide on approaching short essay questions will give your students the foundation they need to succeed in this class.

Please note that while I have future lessons covering the other writing questions, I slow down and go more in-depth with the first essay type (contextualization). I recommend teaching this after you teach the White Temple and Its Ziggurat and the Statues of the Votive Figures.

This resource comes as a Google Drive resource. When you download this resource, you will see the terms of use and printing notes. On the printing notes page, you will have a link to the Google Drive folder. You will need to make a copy of the material if you would like to edit it. All of these instructions, including a step-by-step visual guide on how to use this resource, is included in the terms of use. If you would like to print the resource material, you can do so. Simply go to "File," "Download," and "PDF" to save the resource as a PDF and print!
