This 60 minute middle school lesson plan helps students learn about the lives of colonial women and children in America via a customized reading activity and video viewing. This lesson provides teachers with a warm-up activity, individual/guided practice activities, lesson extensions, handouts, and project ideas. The bulk of this lesson will require students to read handouts related to the daily life of women and children during the 1700s. This will be followed up by a mini essay activity related to Colonial Women and Children.
