Description

Welcome! This listing features a homework quiz about ions earmarked for students in high school chemistry. Chemistry professors at colleges and universities expect their students to have the ions fully memorized in name, symbol or formula, and by charge for the exams, so I feel it is our responsibility to prepare our students for the post-secondary level.

In this one-page assessment, students will write the name of the ion in section one and write the symbol or chemical formula with the correct charge in section two. Forty-nine different monatomic and polyatomic ions are on this quiz.

I included a key with the answers in red font. I also provided a list of a half dozen additional ions not used in the quiz on page two in the event there are examples you would like to switch out.

This PDF document will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Program. The versatility of this document allows you to use it as a closed-book checkpoint assessment or as a worksheet.
