Students will learn about the causes, course, and effects of the Rwandan Genocide by watching a 6 minute TedEd video and answering 26 questions. The answers are included where appropriate.
Sample questions include:
--What does the quote at the start of the video mean to you?
--How are Belgium and Germany connected to the genocide?
--Citing evidence from the video, did the Peace Accord bring peace?
--Identify one reason help and protection was not given to those Tutsi.
--What was especially challenging about trying to see the tribunal through?
--Summarize the two different legacies of the gacaca, or their impact on Rwandans going forward.
