Description

This two-page exam is a summative assessment for a microbiology unit in a Human Anatomy and Physiology course.
  • Students define eight terms in the first section (Pathogen, biological vector, aseptic, communicable disease, antibiotic, systemic infection, portal of exit, and localized infection)
  • Then students classify the pathogenic class and portal of entry for seven diseases/conditions.
  • In the third section, students identify whether ten conditions are caused by a bacterium, virus, protozoan, animal (invertebrate), or fungus.
  • In the fourth section, students identify the pathogenic class and biological vector (if applicable) for six disease conditions.
  • In the final section, students write an essay to address the specific course of action they would take as community leaders for a specified localized outbreak.
This PDF document will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader app. Point values are tentatively assigned for the answers in each section. It includes a two-page key with the answers in red font.
