Students define eight terms in the first section (Pathogen, biological vector, aseptic, communicable disease, antibiotic, systemic infection, portal of exit, and localized infection)

Then students classify the pathogenic class and portal of entry for seven diseases/conditions.

In the third section, students identify whether ten conditions are caused by a bacterium, virus, protozoan, animal (invertebrate), or fungus.

In the fourth section, students identify the pathogenic class and biological vector (if applicable) for six disease conditions.

In the final section, students write an essay to address the specific course of action they would take as community leaders for a specified localized outbreak.
