This approximate 140+ minute lesson plan can be adjusted to fit the needs of any classroom. It is designed to help students learn more about the advancement of technology during the Renaissance.
Students will work in a group to learn more about inventors during this period. They will be asked to create their own invention, while learning to answer these questions:
(DOK 1) Can you identify 3 other inventions created during the Renaissance period?
(DOK 2) What can you say about the impact made by the different inventions during the Renaissance time period?
(DOK 3) How would you adapt a specific invention created during the Renaissance period to meet the standards of today?
(DOK 4) Imagine that you were living during the Renaissance period. What is one invention we have today, that you believe would have made a huge impact during the Renaissance period? Use your creativity to explain the invention you believe would make the biggest impact and explain why? Use facts and other information to support your answer.
