Description

Ken Burns' documentary on the Corps of Discovery is a wonderful supplement to any discussion of this famed expedition.

The video guide consists of 56 questions to help students remain engaged and build their understanding of the expedition. The video guide is divided into two sections, with each section shown over a two-day period. The resource does include an answer key.

Whereas the original full-length video is four hours, this resource focuses on those sections instrumental to the story of Lewis and Clark: the Introduction, the Real Unknown, the Northwest Passage, the Most Terrible Mountains, Watkuweis, O! the Joy, and Done for Posterity.

The scenery presented by Ken Burns is truly awe-inspiring and historian Dayton Duncan is an excellent choice to provide historical expertise. Hal Holbrook does a wonderful job narrating the video, while the added voices of Adam Arkin and Murphy Gruyer truly bring Lewis and Clark to life.

My students have always loved watching the video and I am sure yours will, too!
