Description

Welcome! I created this full-page worksheet to help my middle school earth science students compare and contrast the formation and properties of three different structural types of volcano - cinder cone, composite, and shield. Students will draw, color, and label the progression of eruptions for all three classes of a volcano on the first page. Students will color and trace the edges of the growing layers of igneous rock as well. On the backside, students will identify whether the sixteen informative statements describe a shield, composite, or cinder cone volcano. This worksheet specializes in volcano morphology, volcano formation (explosive versus quiet eruption and when), and lava classification. I included a two-page color-coated answer key.

This PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Program.
