Description

Texas History students review, or learn about, the people/events/trends/etc of the Progressive Era (including but not limited to prohibition, segregation, education, and the Galveston Hurricane of 1900) by creating a collection of newspaper front pages. There are academic and creative requirements to this project and students must cover 15 items from the era. A sample list of 39 topics to choose from is included (such as bandits along the Rio Grande, Texas Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs, Minnie Cunningham, Terrell Election Law of 1905, Mexican Revolution, Annie Webb Blanton, William P. Hobby, mutualistas, and more!!!), as well as three sample layouts and a points distribution. This could work for a sub!
