Description

Students review the people, ideas, and key terms from Andrew Jackson's presidency by mixing and matching 23 terms to their images and identifications and answering 6 review questions. Students create their own images for 5 terms (a written example is included). This includes a page of teacher instructions and the answers where appropriate.

The topics and people covered include: Jackson, 2nd Bank of the United States, nullification, Calhoun, Trail of Tears, tariffs, Panic of 1837, Worcester v. Georgia, Whigs, Van Buren, and MORE!

Sample questions include:
--“The bank is trying to kill me. But I will kill it.” How could an institution be “killed” by Jackson? Was he successful in that attempt?
--Do you think Jackson’s use of the pocket veto was constitutional or an abuse of his office? Explain your answer fully.
--Write 2 presidential campaign slogans Jackson might have used in 1832, and write 2 his opposition would have used.
