Description

Students will review the people, ideas, and key terms related to Latin America's fight for independence from Spain, France, and Portugal by mixing and matching 14 vocabulary terms to their images and identifications and answering 8 review questions. Students will create their own images for 4 terms (a written example is included). This includes a page of teacher instructions and the answers where appropriate.

Sample questions include:
--Discuss why, upon achieving initial independence, most Latin American nations faced instability and a lack of true freedom as it had been envisioned.
--Summarize the challenges faced by revolutionary forces in Haiti and how freedom was eventually achieved.
--Explain at least 2 ways those in Latin America were inspired by the Enlightenment and how it guided/influenced various aspects of their fight for independence.
