Description

Stories from the Panchatantra - Primary Source Reading, Questions, & Answer Key

The Panchatantra is a series of animal fables from Ancient India designed to teach people lessons. This is an excellent addition to your unit on Ancient India or World Literature. I really like this resource because even though it is a primary source, it's a story - an excellent way for students to stay engaged.

This resource comes as a Google Drive resource. When you download this resource, you will see the terms of use and printing notes. On the printing notes page, you will have a link to the Google Drive folder. You will need to make a copy of the material if you would like to edit it. All of these instructions, including a step-by-step visual guide on how to use this resource, is included in the terms of use. If you would like to print the resource material, you can do so. Simply go to "File," "Download," and "PDF" to save the resource as a PDF and print!

Want to know more about what's in this resource? ⇣⇣⇣⇣⇣⇣

  • Two short stories from the Panchatantra titled "Poor Blossom" and "The Snake Who Paid Cash"
  • 8 comprehension questions to check for student understanding
  • Teacher answer key (not included in preview)

I know how frustrating it can be for students when they receive large amounts of text to read, so I intentionally made this a one-page reading! Whether you assign this as homework or do it together as a class, this is an excellent supplement to use in your class.

Best yet, all of these items are EDITABLE!!! If you need to change or adapt them to fit your curriculum or classroom needs, you have the power to do that!

Happy teaching! :)
