This 9 page packet contains everything your students need to complete a document based activity (primary sources) on the Boston Massacre. Perfect addition to any American Revolution Unit. Can be used for classwork, group-work or homework. In this activity your students will:
1) Read several accounts of the Boston "Massacre" from British and colonial perspectives. They will also examine Paul Revere's engraving of the event.
2) Complete a graphic organizer that requires students to compare the different perspectives of what happened on that bloody day in 1770.
3) Exit Card activity: Complete a comparison sensory figure: Colonists V. Redcoats
Essential Question
"Based on the evidence, should the colonists have classified the events of March 5, 1770 as a "massacre" and allowed themselves to use this event as a contributing justification for war with their king? Were the colonists over-exaggerating?"
