Description

Students will read and analyze an 1892 speech by Elizabeth Cady Stanton on suffrage (explaining why she believed women should get the right to vote) by answering 8 questions and completing 4 tasks. The tasks include creating picketing signs, various perspectives, social media posts, and news headlines and blurbs. This would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate.

Sample questions include:
--What types of bondage do you think Stanton refer to when she says "a complete emancipation from all forms of bondage."
--Why does Stanton believe a complete education is so important for women?
--How have the hopes and ambitions of women been essentially changed?
--Does Stanton convince you that women should have the right to vote and a voice in the government, why or why not?
