Description

This winter themed set of ELA activities is wonderful for 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade. Use it this winter as a fun way to learn and/ or practice summarizing, cause and effect, compare and contrast, making inferences, finding text evidence, finding story elements, practicing adjectives, and writing a story adaptation. Use this in a whole group, small group, or create some winter themed centers . These activities can be printed off or uploaded to your favorite digital platform.
This activity includes:
-a teacher's guide
This will take you step by step through the process of how to use each included activity.
-Cute Pics
Use this activity to reinforce the skill of summarizing. There's an explanation of how to summarize right there on the page.
-Making Inferences About Setting Citing Text Evidence
Use this activity to reinforce the skills of making inferences, setting, and citing text evidence. There's a quick explanation of how to make inferences right there on the page.
-Compare and Contrast
This paper is a graphic organizer to compare and contrast both stories. The QR codes are right there on the page for easy access to the 2 stories.
-Adventurous Adjectives
This can be a class poster or s student handout to go in writing notebooks. You can also copy it off double sided with Let's Build a Snowman, because kids will be practicing finding and using adjectives with that activity.
-Let's Build a Snowman
For this activity students will identify adjectives that they think describe the snowman that they have created. There are several options to decorate their snowman, kind of like a paper doll.
-Let's Plan a Story Adaptation
This planner will help your students when they're planning out their story adaptation.
-My Story pages
These pages are in 3 levels to adapt to your different learners. Choose which will work best for each. All will have a chance to illustrate.

These useful, ready to go, NON-WORKSHEET resources.

    Very engaging

I love how these organizers can be used with any text. My kids will love making “posts” using their cell phones to summarize. Super cute graphics and they are going to love making their own snowmen!
