All About Me, School, Community Unit

This is a perfect unit for back to school or before introducing an in-depth community unit in Social Studies. Students will do some getting to know you activities and learn about each, their homes, their school, and their community. This 30 - page unit includes graphic organizers, videos, and writing assessments. Also, students will use creativity to design themselves, their homes, and their schools. After learning about different community types they will focus on their own and create a neighborhood map. This unit can bring about a bulletin board and be a prelude to learning about citizenship and communities. It includes writing, grammar, brainstorming, and creative projects.
