Five full days of substitute-ready high-school biology in one no-prep download, built for the problem that makes a science absence hard: the person covering your room almost certainly cannot teach the content. STANDARDS TOUCHED

NGSS disciplinary core ideas HS-LS1 (structures and processes, Day 1 and Day 2), HS-LS2 (ecosystems: interactions, energy and dynamics, Day 5), HS-LS3 (heredity: inheritance and variation of traits, Day 3) and HS-LS4 (biological evolution: unity and diversity, Day 4). The NGSS PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS themselves are deliberately NOT claimed: a reading-and-questions packet does not have students develop a model, plan an investigation or use mathematical representations, which is what those codes require, so this packet supports them rather than assessing them. CCSS ELA/Literacy in Science and Technical Subjects: RST.9-10.1 on the three literal questions each day and RST.9-10.4 on the daily vocabulary-in-context question. Each is earned by a recurring slot rather than a one-off. RST.9-10.2 is NOT claimed — no question asks for a passage's central idea or a summary of it — and neither is RST.9-10.7, since no day carries a diagram, chart or data set. No state standards: this sells nationally, and a code the content does not carry is worse than a code left off.
