Branches of Geography

The Different Branches of Geography:

The main goal of this lesson is to have students examine the multiple fields of geography and what they study, along with how these branches can impact our lives today

Activity Option 1

Students are asked to complete the reading on different fields of geography and fill out the graphic organizer provided. Prompts are provided on the instruction slide to help students think about some of the information they want to include. The instructor can have students complete all sections or divide certain sections among the class as they see fit.

Activity Option 2

Students can use an information chart on the branches of geography, or the reading from option 1. Using those resources students read 15 different scenarios and determine which branch or branches it might apply to.
