HOW IT WORKS

• Every heading band carries a rule to write on. Fill the headings in once and photocopy the sheet all year, or hand them out blank and let students choose their own categories.
• Pick the shape that matches the thinking: a table to track a cast, a web to look at one character from several angles, a timeline for change, a grid for sorting.
• Every page has a line for the title of the text, so a folder of finished work still makes sense later.
