This assignment, created by Shawneen Morrison, is designed to be a summative activity or alternative assessment following a comparative study of the 13 Colonies.
Students develop an immigrant profile for a person who would like to immigrate to one of the U.S. Colonies. Then, students are challenged to ascertain which colony would be the best choice for a person with the demographic characteristics of their immigrant profile.
Finally, students use this analysis to create an advertisement that is designed to recruit other demographically similar Europeans to the colony that they chose.
