Description

Students will complete an 11 item graphic organizer and answer 4 questions to compare and contrast the Revolutionary War and French Revolution. They will also analyze 10 political cartoons and images according to 2 prompts. Time permitting, they will read, analyze, and compare and contrast the Star Spangled Banner and La Marseillaise by answering 14 questions.

There is also sorting chart with 36 terms/phrases for students to complete as a review or to help with the compare and contrast chart.

The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! 

Sample questions include:
--Which revolution made more of an impact on the world at the time? Explain your opinion.
--Describe what it would have meant to the Americans fighting to see, “that our flag was still there.”
--Using evidence from the text as support, identify how F. S. Key might feel about his country.
--In your own words, what has the blood done in the 3rd stanza?
--Who was behind the “tyranny” and why were citizens encouraged to grab their weapons?
--Compare and contrast the tone and emotion evoked from each anthem.
