This is a great activity that I use with my AP Biology students at the end of this unit. We complete the activity as a class as the students try to guess what they will write in the blanks. Because this is a Concept Map, students will see how the various topics are interconnection which helps with retention and understanding. In addition, we are able to review a TON of vocabulary in about 15 minutes.
This activity could also be done as a group activity if students are given a word bank or vocabulary list ahead of time.
I have even used this as a group competition. Each member of the group receives a copy of the concept map. They work together to try to fill in the blanks. The first group done submits only one copy to be graded. The group with the greatest number of correct answers wins! This is a great strategy if you are trying to get your students to study harder for upcoming tests. **Key Included
