Day of the Dead Create an Alebrije Activity in English & Spanish Día de los Muertos

This ZERO prep Día de los Muertos Alebrijes activity will have your English speaking or Spanish speaking students engaged at high levels to roll & draw alebrijes!

Engage students in creating art by building their own alebrije by rolling a die (dice) to determine which body part of the alebrije comes from which animal! Students will draw their animal using the prompts (or you could have students use digital photos) No two creations will be alike. This Day of the Dead activity also includes a writing prompt designed for Spanish level 1 students, and English speaking students with 7 questions about their creation. The writing prompt is 100% editable and can be leveled up for your higher level students. The animal choice board includes many Spanish cognates as well as picture supports for all animals to eliminate the need for Google Translate use. There is also a dice board in English and an English writing prompt!
