This packet was created to use with Donovan's Word Jar by MonaLisa DeGross. This book is a wonderful introduction to word collecting and can be used along with Teachers College writing unit on Word Collectors (Grade 2). Students can see how Donovan is intrigued by words and how he collects words and builds vocabulary. This packet includes vocabulary work, reading comprehension, writing, word collecting prompts and bulletin board activity.
