European Exploration and Colonization Bundle

These 30+ resources introduce the Age of Exploration and the Colonization of North America. The exploration power point is provided in 2 versions and introduces the motives and means for exploration, the discovery of the New World, the effects of exploration, the Columbian Exchange, the origins of the slave trade, an intro to mercantilism, and more! The middle school version has 3 activities built into the slides. 

The colonization power point provides two versions of an introductory overview of Spanish, French, and British colonization of North America, with the primary focus being on Great Britain. Topics also briefly introduce reasons for exploration and colonization, interactions with Native Americans, slavery, foreshadowing the reasons for increasing tension between the colonists and Great Britain, and more!
