Description

Are you a secondary school teacher who struggles to ”set the tone” for the school year? Are you stressed out about the new school year and short on time? I created a student-centered back to school presentation that focuses on empowering learners with the co-creation of expectations (or agreements), and consequences, to create mutual respect and a sense of classroom community. It also is structured to help you give students the rundown on the school and your classroom. This Google Slides presentation is completely editable so you can modify it and add in the information which is relevant to your classroom and school. It can be used cross-curricularly and would be appropriate for any secondary classroom. Finally, it can be used whether we are in the classrooms or distance learning! I have updated this to include versions for virtual and in-class learning.

This product includes:
  • Ideas for an introductory activity/icebreaker
  • Structure for co-creating agreements
  • Structure for co-creating consequences
  • Positive phrasing
  • Focus on progressive discipline as well as natural & logical consequences
  • School-wide Rules, Policies & Procedures
  • Course Information
  • Virtual AND in-class versions included
  • Google Slides and PowerPoint versions included
