This Here Comes The Train Beginning Sounds Activity can be used for centers, small group instruction or 1:1 work with a teacher or assistant. The activity includes all letters of the alphabet – there are 5 cards per letter. This activity aids in developing the Alphabetic Principle – connecting sounds with their matching letters.
This Here Comes The Train Beginning Sounds Activity aligns with the Science of Reading and can be used to give your kids a solid base in phonemic awareness. The bright, interesting pictures keep young pre-readers engaged and build visual discrimination skills at the same time.
Print the activity out, laminate it for durability and enjoy. I have used small trays to hold the cards, or you could put magnetic tape on the back of the pieces and put them on a whiteboard.
