Hamburger Fast Food Timeline Activity PowerPoint and Worksheets
Our products are designed to coordinate with fun holidays throughout the year. This packet is designed to accompany National Hamburger Day May 28th. It also works for these fun hamburger holidays:
July 28 - Hamburger Day
September 15 - Double Cheeseburger Day
September 18 - National Cheeseburger Day
December 21 - National Hamburger Day
(yes, twice a year in case you missed it the first time! )
This is a timeline activity based on when the major hamburger fast food restaurants were founded beginning in 1921 and ending in 1986. You can use the files / complete the activities in several different ways - but they are basically the same activity.
First there is a large set of timeline cards and blank timeline pages. Cut these out and arrange them on the timeline with the year on top and the logo below. (The year must be written in by hand) You can also just cut out the cards and arrange them to the wall as desired. You can have learners predict the order of the founding of each restaurant before showing the power point for fun. If using this in a classroom, you can give a logo card to a learner and when their restaurant opens (according to the presentation) they can come place it on a bulletin board or other area you have designated. If you use a logo card and a year card - you have enough for 26 students to be involved in the activity.
Next you have a worksheet with the timeline activity as a "cut and paste" - this is also available as a digital file suitable to send through Google Classroom or similar digital platforms. The learners slide the logos into place on the digital file. Your link to the digital files can be found on page 3.
The final worksheet gives you the option to have learners number the logos before seeing the presentation, then responding to response questions related to the presentation. They are asked to design a logo for their own burger shop. The digital version of this sheet has an additional response question in lieu of the drawing activity.
