My Writing Journal

This product is meant for beginning writers to have a single place to progress throughout the year.

What's inside:

This journal covers: alphabet, basic letter formation skills, name writing, sight words, CVC words, sentence writing, and story writing.

The sight words that are used within this journal correspond with Dolch, Fry and Clay's beginning sight words. The sight words featured in this journal are: I, like, am, the, we, go, see, can, she, is, has, he, little, play, and, you, big, with, for, no, jump, one, are, have, said, two, look, me, come, here, my, to, of, what, put, want, saw, this, yes, did, do, because.

Teachers are able to use this journal for Parent Teacher Conferences, Back to School Nights, and student data.

Check list are used to allow your students to become independent writers, and to go back, review and check their own work to ensure that it meets the requirements of a complete sentence or story.

Fluency list are used as a student resource and teacher/student data tracker.

How to Use:

This journal is meant to be bound or stapled into a book, and to be used throughout the school year. It is recommended that certain pages get laminated to get the most out of them and to allow for continuous practice. Once laminated students can use a dry erase marker and practice these pages. I have added a list of the pages that I recommend laminating.
