Description
This product is a ZIP file that includes a PPT and Word Docs that guides the teacher in how to instruct their students on two methods for understanding Political Cartoons; OPTICS and the National Archive Methods. The PPT uses more current political cartoons to engage the student in the methods so they understand and grasp the concept easier and then are able to apply the same method to historical political cartoons. The teacher first models a method then students (in groups) practice the method. Teachers next will have groups share their findings and have a discussion on how students came up with their findings.
