Description

Looking for a fun way to review in Texas History? This is a great review game that I call Swat the Star!

Students "swat" the answer (using cheap fly swatters) - for a team competition. I've included a blank star in case you want to add your own topics. It's EDITABLE!

To play this game you will need 2 different colors of fly swatters. Simply print these stars out and laminate them (or use sheet protectors) and tape them on your wall. One member of each team will be "up" to answer a question that you ask orally. The first to swat the answer wins a point for their team.

You may either create your own questions (based on your assessment) or have students create questions that they turn into you that you can use for the game. I give a grade on their questions and encourage students to try and "stump" each other.

Easy prep! Tons of fun competition.

What's included?

  • Editable PowerPoint which includes over 50 Stars - each with vocabulary, people etc. about Civil War and Reconstruction - (Please see preview to see what topics are included)
  • -1 blank star is included that you can copy off and add your own topics - as many as you wish.
  • -Game instructions for the teacher.

*No key is included because you or your students will be creating the questions.

Please note: You do not have to use all of these stars. Just use the ones that you need. I've included the vocabulary and important concepts/people from the 7th grade TEKS, however, 4th grade can certainly play this game - just pull out the stars that you need.
