This download includes both a learning and interactive worksheet as well as a lab. The worksheet will have students investigate the physiology of taste including the anatomy of the tongue/taste buds, the chemical properties of taste, myths about taste and facts and statistics regarding taste. This is a great overview before performing the lab activity.
The lab is a fun way to have your students investigate their sense of taste! Students will prepare sugar, salt and vinegar solutions of various concentrations and then test their thresholds for the tastes of sweet, salty and sour. Great way to bring out engagement while learning about the sense of taste and lab processes.
