Love the Amazing Race? So do I....this Constitutional Amendments (Bill of Rights) lesson is Amazing Race inspired and is so fun your students will beg for more!
In this highly interactive activity, your students will work in small teams to complete 10 Legs of the Race to help them master the First 10 Amendments. All 10 activities are hands-on, and require students to learn more about each individual amendment in the Bill of Rights by completing a hands-on task. For example, in one Leg of the Race, students are tasked with stacking 10 plastic cups to correctly describe the 6th, 7th and 8th Amendment- if they do it correctly they get a secret phrase and move on to the next leg! Student teams compete to see which team will correctly complete all 10 Legs first to win the RACE!
OPTIONALLY- Don't have a lot of time, your students can just complete a handful of activities/ puzzles of your choice instead of a full race- for a fun hands-on activity day! A great break from lecture!
All handouts, Leg materials, teacher directions, and answer keys are included. You only need to obtain 10 plastic cups and at least 2 computers/tablets with internet access for student use!
