Description
A year long teaching strategy like flash cards! My students draw the symbol and learn a short phrase for each symbol that they can recite each time they see it! Incorporate these into your daily lessons (randomly or as a warm up following bellwork) it really works, builds fluency and keeps them from forgetting what you taught all year long! Journal version and slide show/ wall version included! Also include highlighting and underlining to help your kids learn how to summarize and simplify, then gradually decreases that support until they can do it on their own! This is aligned to the 2018 TEKS for SS.
