STAAR and TEKS focused Academic Vocabulary Word Wall
Texas teachers, I designed this word wall to help you prepare your students for the STAAR test. The reading academic vocabulary words were taken directly from the Texas TEKS and previous STAAR tests. The words have been broken down into 7 categories (vocabulary, comprehension, fiction, nonfiction, poetry/figurative language, drama, and persuasion), and they are color coded. This set includes: the category headings, the vocabulary words with definitions, and an extra template to add more words if you would like to.
**Knowing the meaning of the reading academic vocabulary is essential in order for students to be able to pass the state test.
