Description
Students will read and analyze an account of the Election of 1828 and President Jackson's inauguration by answering 15 questions and completing an extension task. This would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate!
Sample questions include:
--What kind of race would this be and why?
--What was Jackson's victory seen as?
--Write a contextually appropriate synonym for “edifice.”
--How could it be said that this was the “People’s day?”
--Was Jackson’s inauguration a turning point in American history, why or why not?
--Discuss 3 similarities and 3 differences between the Election of 1828 and the inauguration and an election and inauguration today.
