Description

Students will read about the Bataan Death March from a selection of memoirs of fighting and being POWs in the Pacific Front of World War 2 (WW2, WWII). They will then answer 2 questions about a propaganda poster and 10 based on the text. The last question is a reflection question. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--How did war come to the Philippines?
--Propaganda showed the Japanese one way, Dyess tells us something different. Why was there a difference AND what was that difference?
--From what came the Japanese soldiers' brutality?
--Explain why Dyess relates to readers that the POWs became "too discouraged even to swear.”
