Biology/Life Science Course (Distance Learning)

The enclosed materials compose a Biology course with individual units that have been used extensively in my classroom for many years. The PowerPoints and diverse collection of learning materials contain more than 900 pages of materials and over 1,300 PowerPoint slides. Many of the units were part of the Living Environment Biology course taught in New York State, but additional materials involving plants and genetic crosses have been added to make these materials useful in designing any introductory 40 week biology course. The PowerPoints and cloze notes associated with the individual units will allow you to implement your instruction in clear and methodical manner. 

All units come with a PowerPoint with associated completion notes. Many homework assignments are available for each unit, along with a final quiz or test. Each unit also contains the learning goals for the unit, correlation to the NGSS and Common Core standards, as well as the NY Living Environment core curriculum performance indicators. Several lab activities and Jeopardy review games are enclosed in the package. Homework assignments and/or projects, review quizzes for students and additional quizzes to be used by the teacher are also available. 

You can use the entire contents of this zip file to create a new or improved course, or pick and choose the lessons you want to teach and apply to your own curriculum as you see fit. Most of the files are very editable to your needs.  This makes this product well suited as a source of materials for distance learning situations.
